Our  History

The Journey of Better Life Church | Our History

In early 2015, the Lord placed a divine calling on the heart of Minister Reggie Minor to establish a church. Along with this calling, God revealed the very name of the ministry. Without hesitation, Minister Reggie sought the Lord for direction and clarity, committing himself to  prayer and preparation for the journey ahead.

As he continued seeking God's guidance, he felt led to reach out to Bishop Ron Stringfield to share the vision God had given him. From that moment, the two men of God, fueled by prayer and faith, embarked on the journey that would ultimately become Better Life Church.

In June of 2016, Minister Reggie was ordained as Pastor, and his wife, Earnestine Minor, was ordained as Co-Pastor. Together, with unwavering faith and fervent prayer, they committed  themselves to the work of the Lord. They began hosting interest meetings in their home and local clubhouse, laying the foundation for what was to come. Through dedication, commitment, and  hard work, Better Life Church officially launched in early 2017, holding services at Carver Middle School.

For three years, the church flourished, serving as a beacon of hope and transformation. However, in mid-2020, the COVID-19 pandemic brought an unexpected shift, forcing the ministry to  transition to virtual services. Despite the challenges, Pastor Reggie, along with a faithful team  and the unwavering support of Bishop Stringfield, remained steadfast in the mission, ensuring  that Better Life Church continued to grow spiritually and serve its members.

In January 2021, the Better Life Church family suffered a tremendous loss when our beloved Pastor Reggie was called home to be with the Lord. This was an incredibly difficult time for our up-and-growing ministry. However, through God’s grace, the power of prayer, and the  leadership of our visionary, Bishop Ron Stringfield, Better Life Church pressed forward, holding  firmly to the vision God had given.

By July 2022, we resumed in-person services at Elizabeth Davis Middle School. In 2023, we transitioned to First Baptist Church Centralia for a brief season. During this period of transition  and uncertainty, we faced losses—members, families, and friends moved on—but through it all, we never lost our faith, our fight, or our trust in God. We stood on the promise of 1  Corinthians 15:58: "Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give  yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in  vain."

And we held onto Philippians 1:6:

"For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work among you will complete it by the day of Christ Jesus."

Then, in June of 2023, God performed a miracle! Against all odds, with a minimal number of  members, Better Life Church purchased its very own church building—over 14,000 square feet  of space, fully dedicated to the work of the Lord!

To God be all the glory, honor, and praise! This is our testimony of God's faithfulness, a testament to what He can and will do. We call it our miracle church!

As we step into this new season, we are filled with expectation and excitement for what God has  in store. We look forward to seeing souls saved, lives transformed, miracles, signs, and wonders. God is faithful! And we will continue to declare His goodness as we grow and serve.
